An LGBTQ wedding at St Chad’s in historic Durham.

What an epic day for these two wonderful brides, in the city they met while at university, at St Chad’s College, part of Durham University.

Becca and Amy created their own unique day starting their day off with preparations together at the nearby 40 Winks Hotel, with hair provided by Kerry Wedding Hair and make up by alternative make up artist Rosie Roberts Beauty.

Becca’s Victorian inspired dress was from bridal retailer Pure Brides in Norwich, where the couple live, and Amy’s beautiful number with an added mesh detail was from White Reflections, a bridal boutique also based in Norwich.

Then followed two very emotional reveals to their dads, and then to each other, before a lovely stroll together over the bridge into Durham itself, reliving memories from the time they first met.

Queer wedding videography for a thoroughly lovely queer couple.

WIth a Best Dan giving an extremely funny wedding speech, and a Best Olly providing a wonderful handfasting ceremony, it really was the best day ever for this lovely couple. It was also a best day ever for me selfishly, being able to work with so many amazing inclusive wedding suppliers including the incredible wedding photographer Jules Barron Photography, who was not only the most personable human being ever, her work is banging too!

Other suppliers included the lovely wedding DJ, Cara from Rave the Date.

The best paper wedding confetti in the industry always comes from Flutter Darlings.

We are so glad we chose Laura to capture our wedding day on film.

There are so many tiny, beautiful and funny moments she captured that we got to re-live, or in some cases see for the first time. We will treasure the videos she made for us forever.

Laura was such a joy to have at our wedding, and it meant a lot to us as lesbian brides to have her friendly, calm presence and support throughout the day.

Laura managed to capture the entirety of our day so perfectly, but we never felt self concious about being filmed at any point. She worked so well alongside our photographer (Jules Barron) that it felt like they were a professional duo, despite never having worked together before.

Laura’s videos are so thoughtfully shot and edited, and they really capture the romance and fun of our day.

Thank you so much Laura, we are so glad we chose you

Looking for an LGBTQ wedding videographer?

Well look no further! Not only have I filmed lots of lovely LGBT and queer wedding videos before, but I am also from the LGBTQ community myself, being a proud LGBTQ owned wedding supplier. I also have lots of recent wedding planning experience having got married to my lovely wife in 2022 so I understand that it can sometimes be a struggle finding queer and genuine LGBTQ allies as suppliers! Luckily we have met lots of fantastic queer owned wedding businesses in the industry so I’m always happy to share any useful links if you need them - a special shout out going to my wife Lisa from Queer Ceremonies, who decided to become an LGBTQ wedding celebrant herself after witnessing a number of registrars not being as inclusive as they could have been.

Getting excited at the thought of having a wonderful bunch of queers as your wedding suppliers?? Say hello below and see if I’m available on your wedding date!
