Chloe and Adam: A Christmas wedding video at Swancar Farm Country House
A winter wedding video in Nottingham.
What a fantastic day for this lovely pair of newlyweds! Chloe and Adam got married on the 20th of December 2024 at Swancar Farm Country House and I recently caught up with Chloe to get her thoughts on winter wedding planning and what they learned throughout their journey from planning, all the way to receiving their wedding films.
How would you describe your wedding?
Magical! The best day ever. ❤️
Did you have a theme?
We chose a December wedding because we both love Christmas. It's our favourite time of year, so we wanted to do a wintery, cosy theme. We chose green, red and gold colours, and we had lots of candles, Christmas trees, and beautiful winter foliage.
Why did you choose your venue?
We fell in love with Swancar instantly. It's a gorgeous venue, and such friendly and helpful staff.
Outfits - What did you choose and why did you choose them?
I chose a gorgeous, sparkly, long sleeved white dress. The moment I tried it on, I knew it was the one! I felt so beautiful, and I didn't want to take it off!
Warning for winter wedding brides: your dress and shoes will get VERY dirty.
Adam chose the first suit he tried on - a navy suit and a green waist coat. He paired this with a blue and green floral tie and pocket square, which tied the outfit together well, and made the outfit more interesting and unique.
What about the outfits of your ‘I do’ crew?
For the bridesmaids, we opted for dark green multiway dresses from Jacqueline Louise Bridal. This meant the bridesmaids were able to wear a style of their choice to ensure they felt as comfortable as possible.
For the groomsmen, we opted for the same suits as Adam.
What accessories and shoes did you wear?
I opted for some gold jewellery, including some pearl earrings borrowed from my grandma. I opted for white converse shoes which I embroidered with flowers and the date of the wedding, and swapped out the standard laces for some silky ribbon. They looked amazing, and I was so comfortable. This was one of the best decisions I made, as it meant I was able to dance happily all evening.
Adam chose to wear his late Grandpa's old Omega watch, which is really special to him. The watch was from the 60s and I got the watch repaired as an engagement present so that he could wear it. This meant that Adam had a piece of his Grandpa with him as a reminder of how proud he would have been.
What advice would you give to other couples planning their winter themed wedding?
Specifically for winter weddings: Embrace the weather, the rain makes lovely photos (and it's good luck)! Be mindful that it gets dark around 3-4pm too, so try to plan your day accordingly.
My general advice is to make sure you take some time throughout the day to be alone with your partner, to take everything in and enjoy the moments. It goes really fast, so this will help you to process your emotions and commit it all to memory. We had 10 minutes together after the ceremony, after the reception, after the wedding breakfast, midway through the evening and then at the end of the day before going to sleep.
Is there anything you would have changed?
Nothing! Everything was perfect.
What do you remember most from your wedding day?
How happy we were! Our faces hurt from how much we were smiling that day. And when we think back on all the memories, and watch back our wedding films, we relive those happy feelings all over again!
The party in the evening was pretty epic too.
Thoughts on your wedding film/s?
When planning our wedding, we were debating whether to get a videographer, but we are SO GLAD we did. If you're struggling to decide, DO IT.
Receiving the wedding films was so exciting and so special. We were able to relive the best parts of the day all over again, which is truly amazing. Laura did an incredible job, she captured the day perfectly and our highlight film captured lots of happy, smiling people and natural shots.
I was sobbing whilst watching back the films, and for about an hour afterwards because we were so happy with them. We are planning to watch them back every year on our anniversary to celebrate and relive the happy memories.
What was your favourite part of your wedding film/s?
The highlight was edited really well, it flowed brilliantly and it told a story of the day. Laura captured lots of happy people, which just reflected the energy of the day perfectly - there wasn't a single shot where people were not smiling, which made the video even more special.
Why would you recommend Laura Baker Productions to others?
Laura was fantastic throughout and exceed all of our expectations. The films were amazing and Laura captured our day perfectly. Laura is also a really friendly, kind person and it was lovely to have her around on our wedding day as she made us feel really comfortable. We purchased the raw footage after the wedding too, and Laura was really helpful in giving us advice for how to view and edit the footage. We would 1000% would recommend Laura.
