Lesbian wedding video at East Midlands wedding venue Donington Park Farmhouse.

Ellie and Lauren celebrated their wedding at the lovely Donington Park Farmhouse, an inclusive, LGBTQ friendly wedding venue situated near Castle Donington in the heart of the East Midlands.

This lovely pair were very laid back, creating an intimate, non-traditional atmosphere for their wedding day, something I absolutely adored as a documentary style wedding videographer capturing candid natural moments as they happen. With wedding hair being styled by friend Liv, and make up being provided by Ellie’s sister Mandy, plus all of their wedding stationery being created by Ellie, and the cake being made by Lauren’s mum Sue, the day had a fantastic DIY wedding feel.

LGBTQ wedding suppliers in the East Midlands.

As an LGBTQ owned wedding supplier, I was absolutely in my element filming the big gay wedding of Ellie and Lauren. And really moved during Ellie’s speech when she mentioned all those who had come before them who had fought for gay marriage equality to happen, something my own wife also mentioned when we got married too.

I had the pleasure of working with LGBTQ wedding photographer Amie Seal Photography for the first time, having spoken many times previously about working together at a queer wedding. We were both so pleased to be able to celebrate Ellie and Lauren for who they are and to document their love. When myself and my wife Lisa got married in 2022, we found it really difficult to find true LGBTQ wedding suppliers and supportive allies to work with, where we felt genuinely celebrated for who we are. Although some of our wedding suppliers were absolutely amazing, a couple of our suppliers had difficulty with the basics of us being “different” (!), right down to terrible enquiry forms, to some serious unconscious bias during the booking process. I make no assumptions about anything during an LGBTQ wedding, or any other wedding for that matter. Everyone is different and that’s exactly why I love filming my couple’s unique wedding days.

Myself and Amie had a fantastic time during Ellie and Lauren wedding portrait session in the evening when the light was lower and a bit more hazy, and it gave this lovely couple a chance to have some time together, just the two of them.

Other suppliers that Ellie and Lauren chose included sustainable wedding florist Hidden Botanics and Derbyshire based decor stylist Rent For Your Event.

Laura it’s incredible🥹

Thank you so so so much, it’s so beautifully shot and edited we absolutely love it

P.S I can’t believe the mic picked up me telling Loz that she looked fit at the end of the aisle 😭
