Wedding videographer at Grangefields, a beautiful barn wedding venue in Ashbourne.

Wow, where do I even start with the wedding day of Georgia and Jarred at the incredible wedding venue Grangefields, part of the family run Cripps & Co group of wedding venues across the midlands.

Let’s start at the very beginning, with a trip to Georgia’s accommodation for two nights, at The Retreat by Hall Farm Holidays, located in nearby Hollington, Ashbourne, a charming one bedroom cottage that formed the base for her pre-marital preparations for Georgia, her bridesmaids, mum and co. With an excitable start to the day, and a couple of minor fixes to bridesmaid dresses to be undertaken, I loved being part of Georgia’s gang and was really pleased to be witness to some tear-inducing gift giving as the anticipation was brewing for the rest of the day.

The BEST natural lighting at a wedding ceremony venue in Derbyshire??

Ok, reason number one why I love Grangefields as a wedding videographer - the natural lighting! This was my first wedding film at this incredible venue and wow, the barn where the ceremony takes place has these amazing side windows and a window at the top of the aisle which naturally lit this couple beautifully as they were saying their vows to each other in front of their loved ones. From my perspective as a filmmaker, its always a bonus to not have to set up any lighting, it means I can ‘run and gun’ and concentrate on filming guests instead of setting up and breaking down any gear.

Recommended wedding suppliers at Grangefields.

I had the absolute pleasure of working with wedding photographer Andrew from A Big Neon Glitter, a recommended supplier at Grangefields. Being so familiar with the venue, he was a dream to work with and a really nice guy too! He also has a really striking cinematic style, so check him out if you haven’t yet booked a photographer for your wedding day.

The wedding flowers, including the bouquets, buttonholes and the ceremony dressing was epic, and created by wedding providers Conservatory Florists based in Ripley, Derbyshire.

Georgia’s amazing designer wedding dress was sourced from Just Love Bridal, a quaint bridal boutique also based in Ripley.

I absolutely loved working with A Big Neon Glitter, Andrew set up these natural group shots really quickly and kept the energy high for me to capture some awesome footage of the groups having lots of fun together.
