6 reasons that a wedding video is more important than ever

A couple of weeks ago we filmed our first wedding video since 2019 at Bridge House Barn and we couldn’t have been more thrilled to get filming and editing weddings again! It was a little strange with social distancing measures in place but we were really happy to be part of such a special day. Plus it also made us think about why a booking a wedding videographer is so critical during the pandemic.

Our 6 reasons to hire a wedding videographer during COVID-19

1. For the wedding guests who cannot be there

A wedding video will ensure that your VIP guests who cannot attend due to COVID-19 can still see the most important part of your wedding day, the ceremony and your wedding vows to each other. Its the part that none of your guests will want to miss.

2. Get a custom made wedding video package bespoke to you

If you only want a ceremony filmed or you want us there all day, we can create a custom wedding video package just for you, especially during these strange COVID-19 times. Just tell us what you want, what you really really want!

3. Photographs are great, but…

We absolutely love a good set of wedding photographs and they are great to print and put on the wall to look back on, but when we booked our own wedding videographer we knew we wanted to look back on the whole story of the day and all the emotions that come with it. A great wedding video will always bring that out.

4. Postponed and now having a winter wedding?

We love a winter wedding! Your original plans and date may have changed (ours certainly have, we were meant to be married in June 2020!) but if you’re now getting married towards the end of 2020 or even 2021, winter weddings have a cosiness about them and end of year Christmas feel that looks epic in film.

5. COVID-19 postponement means you might be able to stretch your wedding budget

If you’ve had another year to save due to postponing your wedding, you might be able to now stretch your wedding budget that little bit further and invest in a few more things next year you couldn’t consider for this year. A wedding video should be top of your list!

6. Don’t have any regrets!

The number one thing we hear from friends who got married was that they wished they had booked a wedding videographer. We get it – I am an introvert I wasn’t sure I wanted a videographer either! But Lisa wanted to look back on our whole wedding day story and, I had to admit that she is right!

We pride ourselves in being unobtrusive and with COVID-19 restrictions in place we can easily keep a 2m distance away and still capture all the magic of the best day of your lives.

Our Micro Wedding Video Packages start from £250 for a midweek wedding so email us and have a chat with us about your plans, and see if we’re available on your big day.

Coronavirus update

Well, what a strange year so far eh? As some of you may know, we’ve been as up and down as the rest of you the past few months due to COVID-19, having had to postpone our own wedding which was meant to be on the 6th of June. (Roll on May 2021!) Frustrating times indeed!

We’re always ones to see the positives however, and instead of meeting face to face at venues or for a coffee to chat to you lovely couples, we’ve found that getting to know you on Zoom or Whatsapp instead still feels personal, is obviously really convenient for everyone, and we also get to meet your cats too! Zoom meetings fit in well with our environmental ethos and have made us realise this is a much better practice to have in terms of CO2 emissions and helps us use the car less generally. So we’ll definitely be sticking to this approach as we go into bookings for our 2021 weddings and beyond.

Louise and Jonathan’s Wedding Video at Donington Park Farmhouse

Louise and Jonathan’s wedding took place at Donington Park Farmhouse in Castle Donington on the 29th December 2019, our last wedding video of a jam packed 2019! It was so nice to be a part of such an emotional occasion and Donington Park Farmhouse was an absolutely gorgeous barn style wedding venue.

Special mentions to wedding coordinator Kayleigh at the venue, Maree Frances Photography and Nottingham band The Burgundys who were all fantastic to work with on the day and come highly recommended.

Cat and Rich’s Wedding Video at Quorn Grange Hotel

Cat and Rich married at Quorn Grange Hotel, Leicestershire on October 5th 2019 and what a lovely wedding it was! A lovely, laid back couple that we adored from the day we met for our consultation and it was so touching to see all emotions running high throughout the day, especially from Rich during his speech – we love you Rich!!

Thank you to everyone who made us feel so welcome on the day, and congrats to you both!

Natasha and Matthew’s Wedding Video at the Pumping House in Ollerton

Natasha and Matt’s uniquely styled industrial chic wedding at The Pumping House in Ollerton, Nottinghamshire, was the perfect day – full of emotion and situated in possibly the most stunning wedding venue we have been to yet, an industrial pumping house which is now converted exclusively for weddings.

We loved being part of a wedding with an ethical subtext, from locally sourced flowers from Frances and Rose to the vegan streetfood menu from The OttoMen, and of course the amazing Magda K Photography who is super talented and a pleasure to work alongside.

I would also have no hesitation in recommending hair and make up by Aimee and Natasha Milroy, who were so much fun to work with!

Zoe and Kiran

On Thursday 6th of December 2018, it was my absolute honour to play a part in giving Zoe and Kiran their dream wedding, organised by fundraising organisation the White Horse Wishing Well in Quorn, whose proceeds give back to local families and projects.

With a ceremony held at Loughborough Registry Office and a reception at Rothley Court Hotel, Zoe and Kiran made their emotional vows to each other in front of friends and family. It was a privilege to document Zoe and Kiran’s wedding day for their 6 year old daughter Hope to look back on in years to come.

Science World 2018 in Manchester

On 27th September 2018, I visited the Lancashire Cricket and Emirates Old Trafford ground for the laboratory experience event, Science World, hosted by the Fisher Scientific channel.
This year’s event in Manchester featured many scientific suppliers showcasing their latest innovations and keynote speakers Adam Rutherford and Alice Roberts. What a great day and I was happy to be there filming it all!

Fisherbrand rockers and shakers

Over the past few weeks I’ve been working on creating short form video content for the Fisherbrand rockers and shakers range. Really pleased with how the six videos turned out and they look great embedded into the Fisher Scientific channel’s product pages.
