Coronavirus update

Well, what a strange year so far eh? As some of you may know, we’ve been as up and down as the rest of you the past few months due to COVID-19, having had to postpone our own wedding which was meant to be on the 6th of June. (Roll on May 2021!) Frustrating times indeed!

We’re always ones to see the positives however, and instead of meeting face to face at venues or for a coffee to chat to you lovely couples, we’ve found that getting to know you on Zoom or Whatsapp instead still feels personal, is obviously really convenient for everyone, and we also get to meet your cats too! Zoom meetings fit in well with our environmental ethos and have made us realise this is a much better practice to have in terms of CO2 emissions and helps us use the car less generally. So we’ll definitely be sticking to this approach as we go into bookings for our 2021 weddings and beyond.

Fancy arranging a Zoom call to chat about your wedding? Let us know here.

Kirsten and Paul

Kirsten and Paul got married over Christmas at Ampthill Registry Office in an intimate family ceremony followed with celebrations in Woburn.

Kirsten is LIsa’s stepsister and this is our gift to them, congratulations both. We hope you enjoy looking back on your day, especially during Coronavirus lockdown! Looking forward to more family get togethers one day !!!

If you’re planning your wedding next year, say hello to see if we’re available on your big day.

Louise and Jonathan

Louise and Jonathan’s wedding took place at Donington Park Farmhouse in Castle Donington on the 29th December 2019, our last wedding video of a jam packed 2019! It was so nice to be a part of such an emotional occasion and Donington Park Farmhouse was an absolutely gorgeous barn style wedding venue.

Special mentions to wedding coordinator Kayleigh at the venue, Maree Frances Photography and Nottingham band The Burgundys who were all fantastic to work with on the day and come highly recommended.

Cat and Rich

Cat and Rich married at Quorn Grange Hotel, Leicestershire on October 5th 2019 and what a lovely wedding it was! A lovely, laid back couple that we adored from the day we met for our consultation and it was so touching to see all emotions running high throughout the day, especially from Rich during his speech – we love you Rich!!

Thank you to everyone who made us feel so welcome on the day, and congrats to you both!

Natasha and Matthew

Natasha and Matt’s uniquely styled industrial chic wedding at The Pumping House in Ollerton, Nottinghamshire, was the perfect day – full of emotion and situated in possibly the most stunning wedding venue we have been to yet, an industrial pumping house which is now converted exclusively for weddings.

We loved being part of a wedding with an ethical subtext, from locally sourced flowers from Frances and Rose to the vegan streetfood menu from The OttoMen, and of course the amazing Magda K Photography who is super talented and a pleasure to work alongside.

I would also have no hesitation in recommending hair and make up by Aimee and Natasha Milroy, who were so much fun to work with!

Laura and Adam

Laura and Adam’s wedding took place at Hotel Van Dyk in Clowne, Chesterfield on September 12th 2019 and it was a privilege to document their day for them to remember forever. It was so lovely to see a couple able to be so silly with each other!

What could be better than documenting wedding films for a living? I love my job!

Caroline and Alan

Wow, what a wedding! It’s not very often I get to be both videographer and guest, but when I heard my cousin Caroline was getting married to the lovely Alan, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. It was a beautiful day at Dodford Manor in Northamptonshire, the venue is an absolute stunner and not only that, I got to see my Dad dancing, and we’re talking proper Dad dancing! 🙂

Huge congratulations to the happy couple and I loved every second!

Getting married soon and thinking of investing in a wedding film? Say hello!

Nicki and Dean

On March 16th 2019 we filmed the wedding of Nicki and Dean in Leicestershire. The day started at Glenfield Registry Office with the following wedding breakfast at the Bradgate in Newtown Linford, plus a huge reception with just under 200 guests at the stunning Pumping House in Cropston. It was SO much fun! As you can see from the dance moves at the end! 🙂

Massive congratulations to Nicki and Dean and we hope you enjoy watching your film for many years to come!

Sales Conference 2019 in Poland

In March I spent 8 days at a ski resort in Karpacz, Poland, filming and editing the Fisher Scientific Sales Conference 2019. The theme of the event was ‘Gaining Advantage’ and here are the highlights from a busy week of training, meetings and networking events for the Fisher Scientific team.

The Wedding Planner’s Guide to Wedding Films

Aimee-Louise Sumner

Today we’re chatting to Aimee-Louise from wedding planners Bespoke Weddings about her experience of working with wedding videographers, and the dos and don’ts that couples should think about when booking their wedding film.

Bespoke Weddings work with the leading Wedding Venues & Suppliers across the Midlands, to enable couples to achieve their Dream Wedding, within their Budget.

They run regular unique Win a Wedding Competitions and Exclusive Offers with selected member Venues & Suppliers, which help them to turn couples wedding dreams to reality!

What are your top reasons that couples should hire a wedding videographer?

Couples will spend a lot of time planning their wedding. Most of the time for 1, 2 or even more years. There is a lot of planning, time and effort that goes into making the big day the best it could possibly be…….but then the actual day goes by so quickly! A lot of couples tell me after their wedding that their day went by in the blink of an eye, so they wish they could go back and live it all over again. With a videographer they can! Couples will be able to sit back and enjoy every moment of their big day played over and over (and we all know those brides that will have it on repeat!)! Memories that will never fade……..you cant beat that!

As a wedding planner for Bespoke Weddings, what’s the most frequently asked question you get when it comes to wedding films?

I always get asked “what does everyone else normally go for?” and I always answer with “what do YOU want to go for?”. Your wedding day should be all about you and not what anyone else has done. The big days needs to be personal and it needs to be exactly what you want.

A lot of couples also worry about making everyone else happy. As long as the couple are happy, that’s all that matters!

What’s the best piece of advice you tell couples when it comes to their wedding film?

Research!! There are loads of suppliers out there that will throw some amazing offers at you but ALWAYS check out their work. Having your wedding filmed isn’t something you want to take a risk with. You will only have that day once so you don’t want to book the first supplier you come to as they are giving you a cheap as chips deal, to then find out after the big day that their work isn’t to a high standard. I would always recommend meeting with the supplier, asking to see a variety of work they have done (not just one either……always ask to see more!) and check out their reviews too. This will give you a great insight to what others have experienced and will help you decide if they are right for you.

Any tips for a smaller budget?

This being said, there are genuine suppliers out there that do offer some really good deals that are really good at what they do and will give you some great results. It really does come down to that research.

Another good thing to think about if you are on a budget is what is most important to you to be captured. Some of my couples have enquired about getting just the ceremony filmed and not the rest of the day. Your ceremony is what your day is all about! As long as you have captured this, that is the main thing. All of the rest, you will find, will in one way or another, be captured by your guests. There will be some amazing photos and videos that will pop up (with the dreaded social media tagging) which will superbly highlight what a fabulous time everyone has had!
