Alice and Joe: A Peak District wedding at Whirlow Brook Hall in Sheffield

Alice and Joe had a wonderfully laid back and relaxed wedding day at Whirlow Brook Hall in September 2024, a hidden gem of a wedding venue nestled in the woodlands of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, on the borders of the Peak District.

In the morning, I joined Joe, his groomsmen and the couple’s son Frankie while they prepared for a wedding day full of fun and laid back vibes. I was also very happy to meet their dog who played a key role throughout the day as Chief Enthusiast!

I was overjoyed to work with easygoing wedding photographers Meg and Scott from Fox Moon Photography based in Sheffield. It was a dream coordinating the day with these two absolutely lovely people. September weddings can be tricky as its the month where you start to lose light earlier, often with a slight time pressure following the speeches and wedding breakfast as the light begins to fade. Although we did battle with the weather a little in the earlier part of the day following the ceremony, we made the most of all the available light, and had all the important parts captured by just after 7pm when the sun set.
