Eco-conscious wedding venue Clophill Eco Lodges.

In January I was invited to be part of the touching vow renewal ceremony styled shoot of Lilian and Doug at wedding venue Clophill Eco Lodges in Bedfordshire, organised by the lovely Hannah at Green Soul Weddings, an eco conscious wedding planner for couples planning more sustainable weddings. Hannah brought together a fantastic and friendly group of eco friendly wedding suppliers and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend any of them. It was so good to be part of a group with a shared ethical outlook. And lovely to be surrounded by the beautiful January snowdrops in Clophill.

Sustainable wedding suppliers unite!

Lilian and Doug had a beautiful ceremony full of reflective, moving words and conducted by the rather lovely wedding celebrant Kelly Hawes. Wedding styling and banner were supplied by Cambridgeshire based, sustainable wedding stylist Catherine from All Things Considered.

Hair and makeup were provided by Cambridgeshire wedding hair stylist Kate Atalay and Bedfordshire based make up artist Ali Kynoch.

Place setting Becky Harley

Nature inspired, minimalist wedding ceremony and styling.

With a minimalist, rustic yet modern concept, the colour palettes and place settings for the vow renewal ceremony were absolutely beautiful, with an emphasis on natural materials and seasonal floristry.

Naturally dyed napkins, table runners, textile design and ribbons were by Mia Sylvia, an Essex based textile designer using recyled, organic or second hand fabrics.

Minimal style ceramics were by Naked Clay Ceramics in Bedfordshire.

And wedding stationery was provided by Chloe Ainsley Creative, a Kent based designer making thoughtfully made, and sustainably sourced paper products.

Eco friendly suppliers in Bedfordshire.

The couple were elegantly dressed with a beautiful dress by Amber from Quinlan Couture Bridal, an environmentally friendly bridalwear specialist based in Doncaster, who, like us, plant trees to offset their carbon footprint. Lilian also wears a naturally dyed bridal coverup by Jules Hogan Knitwear, a knitwear designer based in Berskshire, and a tailor made suit by Couchman Bespoke, a social enterprise committed to reducing the environmental impacts in the fashion industry by using sustainably sourced materials and natural dying methods.

Confetti seed paper was supplied by Laura Likes, a low impact eco stationery service creating beautiful paper goods using sustainable materials.

Working with sustainable wedding businesses to create ideas for you.

I was so pleased to be a part of this shoot and to work with so many incredible and diverse suppliers running ethically minded, eco friendly and sustainable wedding businesses like myself. It is truly heartening to see an ethical ethos being at the core of these businesses, and gives me hope that the wedding industry can change and develop as a whole moving forward. Hopefully you have some new ideas to take away from our styled shoot for your wedding.
